Jeffrey made his first competitive appearance in the 200 metre event at the British Athletics League National Two on May 6, 2006. He finished 2nd with a time of 22.70 seconds.  He became the 12th all-time fastest British athlete over 200m when he set a time of 20.38 seconds at a meeting in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 2009.
Jeffrey was ranked 2nd in Great Britain over 200 metres in 2009 and in 2010 was ranked 10th in Great Britain over 100 metres.  Jeffrey was awarded a scholarship from the University of East London in 2010, in recognition of his sporting achievements.
Upon heading for a place in Team GB for London 2012, Jeffrey was one of BBC London's featured athletes as part of 'Olympic Dreams' in the build-up to London 2012, but injury has prevented that. It was a knock to his confidence but he is now building up his strength to avoid injury and get ready for the indoor season and next year’s world championships.
