Annual Greenwich Starting Blocks Dinner

The InterContinental is brand new luxury hotel located in historic Royal Greenwich on the vibrant Greenwich Peninsula. Situated only 400m from North Greenwich Tube Station on the Jubilee Line and only a 5 minute walk from Greenwich Pier, the Intercontinental is perfectly connected to London’s West End. The O2, the world’s most popular music and entertainment venue is 350 yards from the hotel.

Guest speaker and Olympic medallist Steve Parry will be hosting the evening. Parry’s career was at its peak in 2004 when he won a bronze medal at the Athens Olympics in the 200m butterfly. He is now part of the BBC commentating team and looks forward to presenting at the Greenwich Starting Blocks dinner.

Parry won’t be the only Olympian attending. Lutalo Muhammad, silver medallist out in Rio and bronze medallist in London who captured the hearts of the nation in his last second defeat to lose out on gold. Closer to home, Greenwich’s very own Daryll Neita, part of the 4x100m bronze medal winning relay team will be attending the event. In addition, a role model to the borough and previous British record holder, Montell Douglas will be doing a question and answer session with the supported athletes attending. These are just a few of the talented athletes that will be attending, so please book your place for a chance to hear about their sporting journeys first hand.
